Atif Shamim - Head of Pharmacy/National Lead, Foundation Trainee Pharmacist Recruitment

Atif Shamim is the Head of Pharmacy for London, nationally leading on foundation pharmacist training, pharmacy technician workforce development, pharmacy careers and pharmacy apprenticeships. Regionally, Atif leads a team to deliver on strategic aims and workforce priorities, aligned to national programmes, working closely with system leaders and stakeholders delivering on workforce planning, development and transformation.

He also leads the Foundation Trainee Pharmacist National Recruitment Scheme (commonly known as ORIEL), which places pharmacy trainees into foundation training posts across England and Wales. Atif has experience across multiple areas of practice, including community pharmacy, secondary care and academia, and has an MBA in Leadership.

Samantha Quaye - Head of School (Pharmacy)

Samantha is the Head of School (Pharmacy) for London, supporting development of Our NHS People by delivering on strategic aims and workforce priorities, in line with national programme direction. She is responsible for oversight of pharmacy education and training quality standards, leading on design, development, provision and innovation of the Pharmacy Programmes, to achieve the aims of the regional workforce development and transformation strategy.

Sam has a passion for equality, diversity and inclusion, supporting research and clinical leadership across systems, in collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders.

Katie Reygate - Associate Head of Pharmacy - Early Careers

Katie leads on our regional Workforce Development Programme. As part of the national Foundation Trainee Pharmacist Programme, she leads on ePortfolio and provides support on training provision and data management systems as part of the IETP reforms.

Rachel Stretch - Foundation Trainee Pharmacist Lead & Regional Lead for the National Foundation Trainee Pharmacist Recruitment Scheme

Rachel’s role includes leading and implementing supplementary education and training for trainee pharmacists across London. She is also regional lead for the national foundation trainee pharmacist recruitment scheme (Oriel). Other responsibilities include contributing to national trainee pharmacist education workstreams to support the implementation of GPhC reforms to the initial education and training of pharmacists and supporting trainee pharmacist educational programme directors through the leadership and facilitation of networks.

Tracey Gotts (nee Tisley) - Programme Lead, Pharmacy Technicians and Support Staff

Tracey leads on the development and delivery of workstreams specifically for the pharmacy technician and support staff workforce including the Pharmacy Technician Workforce Expansion Programme, Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician Programme and Medicines Optimisation Programme.

Tracey has a background in primary and secondary care as well as education and workforce planning at regional and national levels. Tracey works Monday to Thursday.

Fateha Al-Emran - Programme Manager – Pharmacy Integration Programme, London

Fateha is responsible for leading on pharmacy workforce transformation and integration projects within London and is currently co-leading the Foundation Pharmacist E-portfolio Programme as well as leading on a cancer project to support the community pharmacy workforce. Fateha has a background in hospital pharmacy having held posts within medicines safety and surgery as well as Lead Education, Training and Development Pharmacist for one of the largest multi-site acute trusts in London.

Jennifer Guffie - Early Careers Pharmacist Lead

Jennifer, in collaboration with the Associate Head - Early Careers, is responsible for providing professional leadership, expertise, and support to further develop and implement a strategy for early careers pharmacist education and training within London, working in partnership with key stakeholders and systems. Jennifer leads the regional implementation of the Newly Qualified Pharmacist Pathway. She also supports and coordinates the Early Careers Training Programme Directors, in delivery of the early careers’ strategy.

Jennifer has a background in hospital pharmacy and primary care having held posts in cardiothoracics, formulary, and pharmacy publishing. Her most recent role has been as Training Programme Director at Kings College Hospital to develop and implement the HEE LaSE funded South East London Foundation Pharmacist Vocational Training Scheme pilot.

Emma Walker - Pharmacy Programme Facilitator (Pharmacy Technicians)

Emma is one of the Pharmacy Programme Facilitators providing educational and professional expertise across a range of programmes to develop the pharmacy technician workforce. She also provides support to employers to implement Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT) work-based training, develop educational infrastructure and manages governance and quality assurance processes for pharmacy technician programmes.

Emma has a background in secondary care, mental health and pharmacy education, working at local and regional level.

Kulpna Daya - Pharmacy Programme Facilitator (Pharmacy Technicians)

Kulpna is one of the Pharmacy Programme Facilitators providing educational and professional expertise across a range of programmes to develop the pharmacy technician workforce. She also provides support to employers to implement Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT) work-based training, develop educational infrastructure and manages governance and quality assurance processes for pharmacy technician programmes.

Kulpna has a background in both primary and secondary care. Previous roles include governance and medicines safety, homecare, pharmacy medicines optimisation service and more recently as the professional and educational lead within a hospital pharmacy.

Fahmeda Jangi - Pharmacy Programme Facilitator (Supervision)

Fahmeda works within the team as one of the pharmacy programme facilitators to deliver training events and design e-learning modules for our foundation training year trainee pharmacists. Fahmeda works Monday to Thursday.

Jaimisha Patel - Pharmacy Programme Facilitator (Recruitment)

Jai works within the team as one of the pharmacy programme facilitators to deliver training events and design e-learning modules for our foundation trainee pharmacists.

Jagruti Patel - Pharmacy Programme Facilitator (Education and Training)

Jagruti works within the team as one of the pharmacy programme facilitators to deliver training events and design e-learning modules for our foundation trainee pharmacists.

Iain Taylor - Pharmacy Programme Facilitator (Assessment and Trainee Voice)

Iain leads on the development and review of formative assessment in the foundation training year pharmacist training programme. He is also responsible for recruitment and engagement of regional trainee representatives, ensuring the trainee voice has input in to strategic development of the programme.

Wendi Lee - Senior Business Manager

Wendi supports the team to ensure all aspects of the business plan are managed and planned in a cost effective way. She takes the lead in assisting in the successful delivery of business objectives. Wendi manages internal and external communications, leads on managing the commissioned trainee funding and is involved in the foundation trainee pharmacist national recruitment and eportfolio work stream.

Nyawa Phiri - Project Manager

Nyawa supports Wendi and the wider team with all aspects of HEE's business processes including governance, finance, data management. She also provides project management expertise to various team and national transformation projects.

Sharon Gomba - Project Support Officer

Sharon works with the Pharmacy Technician team supporting the workforce expansion projects and cross sector programmes. She also supports the team with managing the shared mailbox and trainee support reporting.

Victoria Ekundayo - Project Support Officer

Victoria works with the Foundation Training Year team and also works on a number of projects within the team.
