Developmental Resources for Pharmacy
Webpage last updated: 23/09/2024
Introduction
This developmental resources webpage has been created to enable signposting to available resources for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
Resources are grouped alphabetically and by training providers and have been grouped into categories aligned to the four pillars of practice.
Use of these resources will depend on the individual learner’s professional development or employer training needs, job role and career direction. Many of these resources will be of value to the professional development of both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. For this reason, many of the resources have not been mapped directly to specific pharmacy professions or to specific levels of practice. Where appropriate, resources specific to one pharmacy staff group have been indicated.
This webpage is not intended as an exhaustive list of available resources and will be reviewed regularly to ensure it meets the developmental needs of pharmacy staff.
NHS England Workforce Training and Education (WT&E) commissioned training partners
Below are some of the partners NHS England Workforce Training & Education directorate (WT&E) work collaboratively with to develop education and training.
E-learning for healthcare provide free e-learning to educate and train the health and social care workforce. They have an extensive catalogue of programmes to choose from on their website. A selection of e-learning for healthcare resources have been included in the resource categories.
The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) is funded by NHS England WT&E to provide developmental opportunities for pharmacy professionals providing NHS services in England. CPPE have introduced learning pathways to their website to support learners in their journey as a pharmacy professional. A selection of CPPE resources have been included in the resource categories. You can access the pathways, learning resources and book on to workshops by visiting their website.
Access to resources
Most resources are free. Access to some resources may require one of the following:
Registration: Users may be required to register or have an email address ending with nhs.net or nhs.uk to access some of the resources. Specific guidance on how to register for Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE), Open Athens, e-Learning for Health (eLfH), and Standardised Computerised Revalidation Instrument for Prescribing and Therapeutics (SCRIPT), and how to set up an nhs.net email account can be found on the NHS England website.
Individual Membership: Some resources are accessible for members only and users may need to be a member to access them.
Organisation membership: For resources which require organisational level access, users should confirm locally if they have organisation level access. Information on organisations that are members of NHS Elect can be found on the NHS Elect website.
